Transforming this beautiful piece of history into a state of the art senior living center came with many challenges. The former Brewer High school was built in the 1920’s and has stood the test of time. “She’s got great bones,” said Karl Ward at the ribbon cutting.
Bringing the building up to current safety and energy codes included replacing the elevator, sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and installing foam insulation. Many hours were spent repairing the existing tin ceilings and crown moldings. Keeping the character of the building intact was a goal of this project. Brewer Housing Authority and the City Council members were thrilled with the end result.
