Fire badly damaged the auditorium roof of John Bapst High School during the school’s February break of 2015. Nickerson & O’Day had personnel on site within an hour and worked through the night to install a new roof system, just prior to an impending snow storm. The water used to extinguish the fire caused extensive damage to the ornate plaster ceilings and hardwood floors of the auditorium. Crews worked around the clock to ensure the school was ready for students to return to classes the following Monday. Care was taken to restore the precious historic nature of the building. Specialty plaster workers, carpenters, and laborers worked to completely restore the historic Sekera Auditorium in time for June graduation.
