The Church of Universal Fellowship, built in 1844 on Main Street in Orono, required almost double the space it had and needed to renovate the old Parsonage into updated office space. The existing city lot was completely covered with buildings. An obsolete connector set on a side hill with a major drainage structure under it between the Parsonage and the existing church was removed.
In its place a new three-story education, social, and meeting area placed between the Parsonage Building and the main church was placed along with a newly developed front entrance and gardens into the church.
Very troublesome soils conditions, a tricky existing structural configuration, and virtually no storage or lay-down areas made for an interesting experience. Nickerson & O’Day, Inc., sincerely appreciate the trust that the Church placed in it by selecting us as its construction manager for this very challenging project.
