Like many private schools in Maine, Foxcroft Academy needed to recruit students from outside of Maine in order to remain viable. Their recruitment effort was so successful that local housing options were overwhelmed and on-campus housing was the solution.
The two-story/48-bed building was constructed with energy efficient and environmentally friendly considerations such as Forest Stewardship Council certified lumber and large windows for daylighting with sun screens to prevent overheating. The project construction waste stream was segregated to divert approximately 85% from disposal in landfills.
