Having already built the YWCA’s first aquatic center, the Means Pool, in 1973, Nickerson & O’Day was invited back to construct the Aloupis Pool and completely renovate the Y’s original “1929 Building”. In an effort to keep the facility open during construction, this project was completed in two phases. Work also included constructing a new entry lobby, parking lots, and a basketball court/gymnasium.
Nickerson & O’Day Inc. has returned to the YWCA many times since for minor renovations/additions and has entered its fourth decade of a relationship with the “Y”.
